Our AWANA meet most Sundays during the school year.  Supper for the Awana's is at 5:30 pm, then they meet on the square at 6:00 pm and it ends at 7:30 pm.

AWANA is an international, Bible-centered, children's organization. Sugar Valley Baptist Church offers AWANA as a positive influence in the development of our children. The main objective of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve HIM. The acrostic AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). AWANA leaders are committed to serve Christ. Leaders serve because of their obedience to Christ to reach people for Christ and because they love working with children.

AWANA strongly encourages hiding God's word in your heart to guard against sin by emphasizing, memorizing, and understanding Scripture (God's Word).

Drop Off/Pick UP
AWANA begins promptly at 6:00pm on the square. For safety of all children, parents and guardians must drop off children to the sign-in table in the fellowship hall. Again, for the safety of all children, please pick up your child(ren) from the AWANA square.

WHAT DO WE DO IN AWANA?
The AWANA program at SVBC consists of four segments: Game Time, Handbook Time,  Council Time and Snack Time.

GAME TIME offers clubbers the opportunity to participate as a team in physical activity. Being part of a team builds team spirit, good sportsmanship, coordination skills, and self-confidence.  Gym shoes are required.  Sandals are not to be worn during game time.

HANDBOOK TIME consists of interactions between individual clubbers and their leaders.  Clubbers recite verses and answer leaders' questions about the Bible. Once the clubber has covered the handbook material adequately, the leader will sign the handbook and the clubber will receive awards.

COUNCIL TIME includes announcement, testimonies, a Bible message presenting the Gospel, and instructions on applying Bible truths to everyday living.
