Caleb's Charge to the People
Philippians 4:13
Numbers 13:30
A. A special time for the children of Israel.
1. They had been delivered from slavery.
2. They had been set free and spared by the blood of the Passover Lamb.
3. They had reached the edge of the promise land.
4. They had been protected and provided for on their journey.
B. The spies give their reports. (13:26-29)
1. Moses had sent twelve spies to scout the land.
2. They all brought back a good report of the land.
3. BUT! Ten spies feared the people who lived there.
4. BUT! Two spies charge the people to move forward.
Look at the charge (vs. 30)
A. A charge to expect harmony among God's people.
1. He stilled the people before Moses.
2. "Let us go up at once", for we are well able.
* He sees the people moving forward as one.
* He expects no hesitation (at once).
3. Gods people are powerful when they move together.
Bible examples of the harmony among Gods people He desires.
Psalm 133; Acts 1:14, 2:1; 1 Corinthians 3
B. A charge to expect the hand of God among His people.
"Possess it" "Overcome it"
1. This could not happen in their own strength. (14:6-10)
2. We are unstoppable in the power of God.

3. Caleb sees the people moving ahead in God's power.
4. Why not the same vision for our church?
5. Lets believe God and move ahead.
C. A charge to share in the harvest intended for God's people.
1. This is one of life's greatest opportunities.
a. The harvest is ready. (John 4:35)
b. The rewards for reaping are great. (John 4:36)
c. The laborers are few. (Matthew 9:37)
d. God has a great reward. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
D. Why could Caleb make such a powerful charge?
1. Caleb saw the Lord; others saw giants.
2. Caleb saw little giants and a big God.
3. Others saw a little God and big giants.
We can reap and claim new territory together. A harvest of souls waits.
