"God Knows Your Heart"
Acts 13:13-43

I.    Is God your first love?     Are God's ways more important than your ways?
        2 Samuel 6:16-23
Worship had declined in Israel under Saul's rule.  His daughter, Michal, was so concerned about David's undignified actions that she did not rejoice in the Ark's return to the city.  She emphasized outward appearances while David emphasized the inward condition of his heart before God.  He was willing to look foolish in the eyes of some in order to worship God fully and honestly.  People may worship God in ways that look foolish to us because they have a different culture or tradition.  We should accept their heartfelt expressions of worship.  We should not be afraid to express our feelings toward God, even when others are present.

II.    God knows each of our hearts.
Proverbs 15:3 (KJV)
3The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.                                           Hebrews 4:12   (KJV)
12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.                                                                                              Jeremiah 17:9   (KJV)
9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Job 31:4   (KJV)
4Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?
Job 34:21   (KJV)
21For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
Mark 7:21-22  (KJV)
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,   22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:                                                                                                                                Matthew 12:34   (KJV)
34O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

III.    David, a man full of mistakes and failures; but yet is described as a man
    after God's heart.
         Acts 13:22         Romans 3:23           1 John 1:9         Hebrews 9:27
