Revival Preparation
I. Fasting Matthew 6:16-18
A. Three (3) things to ask yourself:
1. What are the motives behind the fast?
Closeness with the Lord should be your goal.
2. What are the specific needs I am fasting for?
3. Am I determined to minister unto the Lord during my fast?
Zechariah 7:5
B. How do you determine what type of fast you will do for the twenty-one
days? Pray and let this decision be between you and God.
C. If you do not already have one, set a place and time where you can
study and pray. These are keys to you drawing close to your Father.
D. Set goals to guard your tongue and idle time.
1. Refrain from critical speaking.
2. Refrain from speaking, spreading negative words about or
to anyone else.
3. Consider limiting how much T.V. you watch.
4. Consider limiting time you spend on things that are distracting.
5. Consider listing only to Christian music.
6. Consider establishing some form of accountability.
Without being combined with prayer and the word, fasting is little more than
dieting.
II. Other things we can do:
A. Ten most wanted list. Luke 14:23
B. Advertise: cards, flyers, calls, and personal visits. Matthew 28
C. Be friendly. Proverbs 18:24
D. Door to door invites still work.
E. Ask the Lord for other ideas. Matthew 9:38; Matthew 10:42
F. Come expecting.
G. Remember God is the Key: If we work hard, we will reap a man size
harvest, if we pray hard, we will reap a God size harvest.
H-Z PRAY. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
III. Three main elements of revival:
God's presence - Prayer - Personal repentance
