Special prayer emphasis asking God to bless our High Attendance in Sunday school on August 23rd, 2009.

This is not a study of when, how, and where to pray, it is just an encouragement that God desires that all of His children should pray.

1 Thessalonians 5:17     17 pray without ceasing,

Luke 11:1            Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."

Matthew 6:9        In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Luke 22:40   When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation."

Luke 21:36    Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

1 John 1:9       If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Acts 8:22        Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

2 Thessalonians 1:11      Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,

2 Thessalonians 3:1-3       1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.  3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

Philippians 1:9      And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

James 5:13-18       Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

James 1:5-8       If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Mark 11:24      Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Romans 8:26       Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
